Must Visit Places
Nami IslandNami (seom) island, a half moon shape island located in Chuncheon, Gangwondo is a must visit tourism site mostly for Southeast Asian tourists.
It began to famous after the classic Korean drama Winter Sonata starred by Choi Ji-Woo took place there, followed by We Got Married show by HeeChul (Super Junior). Great to visit on any seasons of the year, as every season shows a unique color sceneries which build magical feelings when walking between the metasequoia trees path. |
Gangchon Rail ParkExperience riding a rail bike witnessing the gorgeous nature view, green lush hills, and travel across Bukhan river railway bridge in Gangchon. Local Koreans often take this as a couple date trip, and experience romance air along the way. A Filming site of Korean movie "Letter". Enjoy a slow 30 minutes ride from Gapyeong station to Gyeonggang station.

Chuncheon CityChuncheon city, drive an hour and a half from Seoul, there are many small yet beautiful pensions with great nature views, a great place for weekend getaway. Eat the original Ddakgalbi, the signature dish of Chuncheon when you visit this city. From Chuncheon, you only a ride away from Nami island.

Jeonju Hanok VillageThe traditional Korean Hanok village located in Jeonju is the most beautiful Hanok village in Korea which consists of 800 Hanok houses. Give tourists the opportunity to dress in the traditional Hanbok and walks around Jeonju. Enter one of the houses in the Hanok Life Experience Hall to experience living as a local Korean. Jeonju is also the the original roots of the Korean dish, Bibimbap.

Yangyang CountyYangyang county, located in Gangwondo between Gangneung and Sokcho blessed with numerous white sand beaches, picturesque rock formations and beautiful sunrise views makes it the #1 summer destination for local Koreans. It known as the Korean Surfing capitals, stretch from trendy Surfyy Beach, Naksan Beach and the biggest surf shops in Jukdo Beach. Visit one of the most picturesque areas of Naksansa Temple at Uisangdae Pavillon, also in Yangyang.

Seorak SanSeorak san mountain is the most picturesque mountains in Korea located in Gangwondo. When you reach the peak of Seoraksan as if you see the back of the mighty dragon beyond the clouds. Seorak san can be reached by cable car or hiking. It shows different beautiful colors on every season, the best is during Autumn seasons when golden red orange colors covers the mountains.

PyeongchangPyeongchang is a county in Gangwon Province, South Korea. It’s known for Odaesan National Park, with trails crisscrossing the Taebaek Mountains. The park is also home to several Buddhist temples, including Woljeongsa Temple. The county was hosting the 2018 Winter Olympics.

GangneungGangneung is a coastal city in Gangwon province, filled with the scent of pine. The best destination will be Jumunjin beach, where you enjoy a clear blue ocean and sky, amazing sunset and fresh seafoods. Around town, it has many museums, including Coffee museum and ecological park, famous for its cherry blossom's street during spring season.

Samcheok BeachSamcheok beach in Samcheok city is the largest beach in Gangwon-do with a 100m-wide white sand beach. A perfect beach to swim due to a thick pine tree forest, a clean white sand beach and shallow waters. This area often holds various events including "Contest for catching flatfish with bare hands."

Naksan Temple
Located in Yangyang-gun, Naksansa (Naksan Temple) is built on a cliff with a panoramic view of the East Coast. This temple is listed among the 33 sacred places in the country housing a large statue “Bodhisattva Avalokitesvar”, a statue of 16 meters high and which largely makes the reputation of the site. One belief that touching the statue at the foot of the monument makes wishes come true. Naksansa has a history spanning 1,300 years. It was built by the great monk Ui-sang, during the reign of Munmu, 30th king of the Silla dynasty (-57 ~ 935), and counts among its monuments: a pagoda of seven floors, a bronze bell and the door of hongyaemun. Uisangdae Pavilion, one of the most popular sight in Naksansa, sits at the edge of the cliff, where Ui-sang used to sit in meditation.
